Dr. Imre Noth received his BA from the University of Pennsylvania, a MS in Human Physiology at Georgetown University and his M.D. from the University of Arizona. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of California at Davis. He completed a Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship at the University of Chicago, and joined the faculty in 1999, attaining the rank of Professor of Medicine in 2012.
Dr. Noth is a translational researcher in Interstitial Lung Disease. Over the last decade and a half, he has concentrated his efforts on idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) with a focus on genetics, and genomics. His lab completed the first of its kind pharmacogenomics study in the field. Most recently, his lab integrated blood transcriptomics with the lung microbiome in patients with IPF. Dr. Noth is a principal investigator in numerous clinical trials funded by industry and the NHLBI/NIH in IPF.
