At the Biosciences Division within ANL, Philippe Noirot is responsible for ensuring that the division’s staff, principal investigators and research groups all effectively communicate with each other and develop ideas and programs that are aligned with the U. S. Department of Energy/Biological and Environmental Research's mission. With his own work, Noirot has continued with a research focus on genetic engineering of undomesticated soil bacteria and studies on the basic mechanisms underlying the functions of environmental microbial communities to help understand the function or dysfunction of microbiomes and their roles in health and disease.
