Dengping Yin

Dr. Yin started his research in transplantation immunology and in the development of microsurgical models in rodents working with Dr. Gary Fathman and Dr. Anita Chong more than 20 years ago. He worked in the clinic in the Department of Surgery at University of Illinois Hospital as a clinical fellow/resident for 2 years in a program of “Minimal Invasive Surgery”. When he moved to Vanderbilt University, he devoted 100% of his effort to research where he was awarded a R01 grant with Dr. Chari in the research of liver ischemia-reperfusion injury. Over past 20 years, he has published 80 articles in peer-reviewed journals, including Science, JCI, JEM, Diabetes, Journal of Immunology, AJT, FASEB J and Ann Surg. His field of surgical expertise includes transplantation and bariatric surgery mouse and rat models. These models provide unique approaches for a greater understanding of molecular and cellular events in metabolism and immune responses.
